2001-present

The Liberty Village Business Improvement Area (BIA) comes into existence in 2001 and becomes the first the first non-retail BIA in Canada. The LVBIA proudly represents over 600 business with over 11,000 employees in a campus-style community.

Throughout the 2000s, Liberty Village gradually evolved from its industrial roots into a vibrant, mixed-use community. The neighbourhood's most significant growth occurred between 2011 and 2016, when the population surged by 175% as a result of numerous new condominiums and residential buildings. By 2018, nine additional condominium projects were underway, adding approximately 4,000 units.

A dynamic urban landscape has been created through a diverse range of companies, retail businesses, restaurants, and entertainment venues. However, Liberty Village's architectural heritage has been preserved by repurposing industrial buildings for modern businesses.

Traffic congestion, limited public transit and minimal green space have been some of the challenges that have arisen from the area's rapid growth. However, infrastructure projects such as 2017's King Street Pilot Project and the King-Liberty pedestrian bridge have helped maintain Liberty Village as one of Toronto's most dynamic and desirable neighbourhoods.
